In addition to helping people heal, Nancy's other passions include a variety of outdoor activities; running, swimming, biking, tennis, yoga and hiking with her beloved Labrador Retriever Arrow.
Colleen was exposed to integrative healthcare early on as a competitive ice dancer. Her treatments for minor injuries included chiropractic, physical therapy/muscle training and nutritional support. During high school, she found the connections between mind and body increasingly valuable as she expanded her school and outside activities to include music and theater. She also learned she was hypoglycemic, which impressed upon her the importance of balancing foods with supplementation and exercise. She continued to enjoy exploring integrative health and mind/emotion/body connections on in to college.
She received her B.S. from the University of Texas at Austin in Communications with emphasis in communication sciences and disorders. These studies included speech pathology and brain function. After graduation, she worked as a chiropractic assistant with a chiropractic group, in-office administration at a private marketing business, and for several years as the administrator for a massage therapy school. As her interest moved to direct patient/client care, she became a medical assistant with Nancy Benzel at NeuroEndocrine Consulting. She has also been the patient care coordinator at Neurogistics. A history of using integrative approaches for her own health issues gives Colleen and empathetic perspective to her work as a medical assistant.
Her passions include movement/dance, meditation, energy work, painting, books, dark chocolate, playing with recipes and exploring the wonderful array of art and live music in Austin.
Jacquie is a native San Franciscan, growing up just South of the City and spending a good part her married life north just over the Golden Gate Bridge. During the year and a half that Jacquie hitch-hiked through 27 countries in Europe and while staying at a youth hostile in Rome, Jacquie met a funny, handsome young man (also a Native San Franciscan) who arrived from his year long hitch-hike which began in Australia. Jacquie and that handsome young man, George, just celebrated their 50th anniversary! They have two beautiful, smart and talented daughters. They love live music (one daughter & son-in-law are musicians), movies, dining in and out with friends and the entire Austin "vibe".
Jacquie has worked in medical offices for many years, both in San Francisco and Austin. Science and medicine have always been a fascination and she feels lucky to have worked with amazing, intelligent medical providers over the years.
